about

Trumpet player Greg Hammontree's new album "Trumpets from Around the World" features his original genre-defying compositions for an incredible variety and combination of horns. The many sonic perspectives he achieved in his work are accomplished by only two performers: Nicole Brancato on keyboard/electronics, and himself on 18 different trumpets.

This project was made possible by the incredible support I received from many generous people. First, I want to thank my wife, Nicole Brancato for her artistic support and guidance throughout the project, as well as her performance, photography, and album art design. I would also like to thank my parents, Bill and Donna Hammontree, for their endless support throughout my life and for the conch shell they gave me; my in-laws, Anna and Salvatore Brancato, for an amazing piccolo conch shell; and Giorgio Ravizza for gifting me the Italian military trumpet and becoming the catalyst for this project! Many, many thanks to Omar Chacon for his brilliant album artwork; Barry Hartglass for his vast knowledge and insight into audio recording and production; Brian Ziegler for his incredible photography; The Queens Council on the Arts for their funding towards this project. And a very special thanks to Joel Pierson, Clayton Dean, and Eric Petersen for their wisdom along the way.
